So Thankful....

The Loucks Family would like to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you have a fantastic holiday!

Ryan and I always try to be mindful of our blessings, especially during the holidays. We really try to gather up our blessings, take them to God, and thank Him for them. This Thanksgiving we have so much more to be thankful for than we ever believed possible. The biggest blessing that we're thankful for is our beautiful baby boy - he could not be any more of a joy. We have so much more to be thankful for, but to list them all out would take forever. But we're thankful and we're so very grateful to Him for watching over us, protecting us and for giving us peace, happiness and love.

I love the holidays.

Last Tuesday....Easton met SANTA! Oh what fun....

Then, after Santa, we had to take a ride on the carousel! (OF COURSE!)

EASTON HAS TAKEN HIS FIRST STEPS! And it isn't just 3-4, it's more like 10-15! He's such a big boy! He'll be doddling around before we know it!

Do you know where YOUR nose is?

Mommy: "Easton, where is mommy's nose?"

A pudgy little hand grabs my nose.

Mommy: "Easton, where is mommy's mouth?"

And then I taste above mentioned pudgy hand in my mouth.

Is he smart or what?! And it's not just a fluke, he does it every time we ask and to anybody. We're beaming with pride over here! ;-)

Anyone in the mood for some corn?!

So, Ryan and I have this "game" we play with Easton (we can't claim it as our own, we stole the idea from some friends! Thanks Wildeys!)

This "game" we play we like to call the "corn" game. It is quite simple.

A. Pick up baby and prepare him for proper corn cob eating. Season him to your liking (I prefer extra salt).

B. Pick up baby and pretend to eat him like said cob of corn.

C. Listen to baby squeal and giggle in delight.

And that is how you play the "corn" game. Enjoy! (Please note that I totally deliver the best corn eating abilities, listen to the squeals of delight in MY video. Extra points for mama! Bwaha!)

He's a Brute!

Easton had his 10 month appointment today! Here are his latest stats:

Weight: 22 lbs. 11 oz. (75th percentile)

Length: 30" (95th percentile)

Head: (50th percentile)

He is a healthy boy! And he is developing great, no concerns, only praises for E-toe! :-) We got the "go ahead" to start letting him eat just about everything we do, so it'll be fun to start watching him explore new textures and flavors. His current favorite is pot roast and tates!

I have been really bad at updating the blog this week. I have been battling a cold that does not seem to want to go away. Ryan keeps asking me if I have been taking my cough medicine - and I have - more than I should and I still am coughing up a storm. Yikes. But our little buddy hasn't gotten sick, thank goodness!

Nothing new to report. I think we will have a walker on our hands real soon. He will get up behind his walker toys and go to town running all over the house....it is just a matter of time until he gets brave enough to through the walking toys to the side! ;-) How fun!

We have continued E's swim classes and I must say that I am so proud of him and his swimming ability. The swim instructor was just gushing over him today because he is really understanding what it going on and he is anticipating what to do from the repetition of movements we have been teaching him. He is amazing, so smart our boy. :-)

Here are two pictures from Halloween. We had my parents and Aunt Vonnie and Uncle Ken over for dinner and to see Easton in his costume. :-) I didn't get the best pictures because it was a bit of a hectic night and all - we had trick-or-treaters up the wazoo!

Easton-Toe and the pumpkin Daddy carved for him! It says, "E's 1st Boo!" All of the neighbors loved it! :-) I think E did too!

Then last Sunday we went to the mall because Daddy and Grampy wanted to see E on the carousel. It was an insane day at the mall and everyone wanted to ride the caurosel. Needless to say, it was not as fun as we hoped it would be (lots of screaming kids and a lazy carousel operator) but we made the best of it and also let E ride some of the rides that are in back of the carousel. He had a good time and that's all that matters!

And then I took this real quick last Saturday after Easton woke up from his nap. He has been doing this for a LONG time now (standing up in his crib) but for some reason, on this day, he just looked really old, like a real big boy and it broke my heart and I snapped a pic. Mommy loves you Toe!
