About Me

My photo
I am a 27 year old married mother of a beautiful, curly headed toddler named Easton and precious (and precocious) puppy named Ritzy. I have 3 blogs. The first blog is our family blog. Enjoy being nosey. Ha! The second blog is for the journey we have embarked on for our puppy. At almost 5 years old, our sweet Ritzy was diagnosed with calcium oxalate bladder stones. He had surgery to remove the stones. This blog is to document (and help others) our journey in saving Ritzy so he gets the long and healthy life he deserves. The third blog is for my "professional" life. It references my lovely Etsy store and all of the loveliness that inspires me on the wonderful world of Etsy

Breaking News!!!!

We have a tooth! Well, we don't have a full fledged "toofer" yet, but one is breaking through! I thought something might be up because for the past two weeks Easton's cheeks have been really red but he hasn't been fussy and when I looked at his gums they didn't look swollen. But tonight, while at a friend's house, we were talking about our babies getting teeth and I mentioned Easton didn't have any yet and went to look in his mouth and I saw some white so I rubbed my finger along his bottom gums and sure enough I felt the tooth! We're so excited for another one of our baby's firsts! It is very exciting for us! :-)

On to the pictures!

These first two pictures were taken last Saturday night. Ryan, E and I went to my parent's house before we all went to church and while feeding Easton his dinner, Grampy decided to turn his swim diaper into a "party hat"....Easton though it was hilarious and Daddy did too, so he snapped some pictures! (Side note: the ugly highchair is NOT OURS, it is the one my mom got for their house! I will not claim it as mine!) :-)

These next two pictures are from last night. Ryan and I had over our friends Kristen and Adam for dinner and a playdate. Kristen and I are friends from elementary school. It is so much fun to get together and to look at ourselves now married with babes! Too funny! Their little guy Ethan is 6 1/2 months, Easton is a little over 7 1/2 months, almost 8 months. It was fun to watch the two together, but hard to take a picture of them both togther! They are both so active, but they had so much fun!

Easton's social calendar is jam packed....

Easton has been a busy boy lately, our little social butterfly!
.
Last Friday we had our friends and their son (Easton's buddy) over for a cook out, then Saturday night we went out to eat at Easton's favorite restaurant (Mangiamos!) where he met a new friend (the baby of a couple from our birthing class!). The on Sunday he had to entertain the family as we celebrated daddy's birthday (the big 3-3 old man!!!!) There was a bit of a break on Monday and Tuesday and then Wednesday Easton greeted his adoring fans at our local Meijer. Women swoon in his presence there, he's a real heartbreaker in the cereal isle you know! :-) Ha! Then, late that day, he joined mommy and grandma for a lunch date and some shopping at the mall where he modeled some hats for us and then today we had a VERY special guest over to play and have lunch with us, Great Grammy!!!! Easton had a blast chatting with Great Grammy over lunch and was all giggles as we played the afternoon away with her! After a nice rest from her visit, we then met up with some new friends, Addie and Avery for a park playdate! Needless to say, after all of this socializing, our little butterfly is quite tuckered!
.
Oh and it isn't just the socializing that is tuckering out our little man, his new method of getting around his tiring him out too! He "creeps" around the house now, pulling himself with his arms to get everywhere. He is SO close to crawling! We can't believe how big our boy is getting!!!!
.
.
Easton and Great Grammy playing, they kinda like each other!

Okay, I lied, they don't just like each other, they love each other. Look at Easton look at me like, "Mom, go away, you're ruining the fun!"

Easton says, "I love Great Grammy lunch/play dates!"

Easton's new pals Addie and Avery playing together at the park....

Easton playing by himself at the park, patiently waiting for the girls' attention, "Umm, ladies, I am over here, waiting to swing...."

Addie and Avery continuing to play together at the park....

Easton, still waiting, "Uh, it's okay ladies, you just keep playing, I'll just be - eh, hanging here if you - uh, care to ever swing with me...." Awww!

.

I took this picture yesterday during Easton's nap. I put him down awake to sleep and he rolls to his side and tries to push down the bumper to see me and see out into his room, he evidentally fell asleep doing this! So cute!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Big!

Today we had Easton's 7 month appointment and he tipped the scales at 19 lbs. 14 ounces and is 29 1/4" inches long! BIIIIIIIG BOY! Ryan and I thought that Easton would weigh in at over 20 lbs., but we were close! :-)
~
His percentiles are:
Weight: 75%
Length: 96%
Head Circumference: 75%
~

Our doctor's office said that there is a vaccine shortage right now, so Easton only had 3 shots and an oral vaccine. He did really well during the shots, I had to walk away, but Ryan stayed with him and he just whined a bit, didn't scream, didn't bawl, he is a strong boy!

Right now Easton's new trick is rocking on all fours. Below is a video. We get him into crawling position and he sits and rocks. A few times we have seen him scoot on his knees and then he gets excited and falls over. It will only be a matter of time before he starts crawling! Oh boy! Right now Easton gets around by rolling everywhere, it is amazing how fast that kid can go already just by rolling!!!!

Easton is also quite the gabber. I suppose he comes by it honestly. Ryan knows how to make a short story long and well, me, I know how to talk, talk, talk your ear off (I come by it honestly too, have you ever met my mom and her sisters?!?!) I, enclose again, for your viewing pleasure, another video of Easton chatting away. This was a short chat, it normally goes on much longer, he holds "conversations" with us. He makes so many new sounds and says things like "Mama", "Dada" and "Baba"....but, we don't think he knows what he's saying just yet, he is just imitating us. Although, he does tend to say, "Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma" when he is upset, maybe he is calling for me? I like to think so! ;-)

Meal times are VERY popular in our house. Easton shrieks and gets very excited when he sees his baby food come out or a bottle being prepared. The boy has an appetite on him! We feed him all organic food and his favorites so far are butternut squash & corn; wild blueberry & pear; and, sweet potatoes. I think bananas and the mix of chicken, squash and corn are runners up in the "favorites" category! Although Easton has his favorite baby foods, he has never refused anything we have given him, he's a trooper!

Today I decided that I wanted to do something different with Easton, so I packed both Easton and Ritzy up and we took a walk to the park. Easton loved it! He giggled as we swung back and forth and squealed with delight as we zoomed down the slide. Ritzy, of course, whined the whole time because he wanted in on the fun, he hated just watching. Maybe next time! :-) I took some pictures of E's first park trip, but they didn't turn out well - I know my dad will cringe when he sees these, as I did not take into account at all where the sun was, the lighting is awful, the shadows are really bad, I just wanted to snap a few quickie shots, but they are REALLY bad, you can see how much fun he was having though! That's all that matters....

I'll post anyway....
