About Me

My photo
I am a 27 year old married mother of a beautiful, curly headed toddler named Easton and precious (and precocious) puppy named Ritzy. I have 3 blogs. The first blog is our family blog. Enjoy being nosey. Ha! The second blog is for the journey we have embarked on for our puppy. At almost 5 years old, our sweet Ritzy was diagnosed with calcium oxalate bladder stones. He had surgery to remove the stones. This blog is to document (and help others) our journey in saving Ritzy so he gets the long and healthy life he deserves. The third blog is for my "professional" life. It references my lovely Etsy store and all of the loveliness that inspires me on the wonderful world of Etsy

15 mo. check up!

Easton had his 15 mo. doctor's appointment today.

He is doing great! He is smart as a whip and developing great!

Easton's current stats are:

Weight: 24 lbs. 6 oz. (25-50 percentile)

Height: 32" (90 percentile)

Head Circumfrence: 18 3/4" (50-75 percentile)

Easton's weight has always been around the 50-75 percentile and he was 24 lbs. at his 12 mo. appointment, so I was concerned, but my doctor reminded me that Easton had the flu last week (who needs to be reminded of that!?) and said that he is sure Easton lost quite a bit of weight from that, so there is no need to worry. Thank goodness!

He got two shots today - DTAP and MMR. I have been putting MMR off for as long as I could, but Dr. Jarve wouldn't let me put it off anymore, so we did it. Easton was not a happy camper, quite a few tears were shed much to my dismay (my heart breaks during shots!) but he is doing great now and we're looking forward to an afternoon at the park.

Have a great day everyone!

Pictures Galore!

Alright, here are some pics! I am really dissapointed I don't have better pictures of E in his Easter outfit. It is so cute and he had a matching white derby hat to go with, but that didn't stay on long! Anyway, here are the pics. We brought Easton's Easter "bag" (I didn't have a basket) to Grammy and Grampy's house to open. The Easter bunny got him some outdoor toys, some Easter stuffed animals and a book about the real story of Easter. How nice of the Easter bunny. ;-)

The Easter bunny also left Easton his first set of golf clubs at Grammy and Grampy's house for him! Looks like E got visited twice by the furry little creature!

I can't wait until next year when we can do an egg hunt for the little Toe!

These pics are just quick shots of Easton and his buddy Ethan having a play date last Tuesday, they had oodles of fun! It is great watching them play together. A lot of my girlfriends have little girls and so it is nice for E to hang with a dude once in a while and do, you know, manly things!! :-)

My name is Kami and I am an addict.

I haven't updated the blog. I am sorry, I haven't have time. We had a lovely Easter. I have precious pictures from Easter, Easton wore the cutest outfit EVER and I have pictures from a precious play date. But I have not updated the blog. Why haven't I updated, you ask? Because I am suffering from an illness, an addiction.
~
It all started the weekend before Easter. My introduction to my latest drug. I was hit and sucked in.
~
I feel like I have been living a double life. Or rather, one that doesn't include my real world anymore. I am involved with characters with whom the likes I never thought I would encounter. I am intrigued, I am pulled, I am obsessed.
~
I have my feasting on my latest addiction and enjoying the "high".
~
This afternoon I finished a "high". I couldn't get my next fix quite yet because we had friends to visit with. After the visit, I begged Ryan to help me acquire my next fix. He reluctantly agreed.
I ran and ran and I searched and scoured and my next fix could not be found. I begrudgingly came back to the car, starting to sweat, I had to get my fix tonight. The desire was going to kill me. But I have a family. I have to think about them, I cannot continue to neglect them.
~
So we went home and I tried to put my desire at bay by focusing on my family, I put my sweet baby boy to bed. I call my mother, I told her that I could only talk briefly because I was in search of my next fix. She gasped in disbelief, she didn't know my addiction had gotten this bad. I didn't even say goodbye to my husband before I ran out the door.
~
It was 9:15 at night.
~
I made a second stop, I searched and scoured - to no avail. I drove across town and made another stop - I didn't even acknowledge the smiling faces that greeted me, I didn't have time for them. I made my way to where I knew I could acquire the object of my desire. Nothing, gone. My hands started to tremble and my stomach started tying itself up into knots.
~
"I could always quench my thirst tomorrow after church", I thought to myself on my way back to my car. But no, I couldn't do that. I would be sweating all through church, I wouldn't be able to concentrate, I wouldn't be able to breathe!
~
Then it hit me as I got into my car, I checked the clock on my dashboard, 9:52 it read. "I might still have time", I said aloud. I always talk to myself, this was not a side effect of my latest drug.
I raced and sped and threw myself out the car door and noticed a sign on the door of my next stop, "Close at 10:00" and looked up at the large clock on the building, 9:58. I had two minutes, I didn't even need one minute, I knew what I wanted, what I needed....
~
I whipped open the door, feeling cooler, knowing that I would soon feel the satisfaction of feeding my hunger. And there it was, waiting just for me.
~
I threw myself at the cashier and smacked down my treasure, "I am so ashamed", I told her as she laughed. "Why is that?" she asked and I told her I had been to three other stores in search of my latest fix. She said she understood, I hoped that she truly did. I had no problem forking over the $21.19 for my precious jewel, I knew my satisfaction would be worth it. The wait would be over, I would again feel my "high". There I was, walking to my car in possession of my drug, my literary crack.
~
Yup. I said it, literary crack.
~
I got home and my husband raced up the steps, "Where in the heck have you been!?" and I told him my story. He shook his head in disgust. I told him he didn't understand, I couldn't help it, I was in too deep.
~
"You need a life" my husband scoffed at me as I watched him walk to his favorite place to relax, with my copy of "Twilight" in his hand. I laughed. Looks like he and I share the same drug of choice.
~
I will update the blog soon with light, silly commentary and sweetie pie Easton pictures soon. Right now I am devouring my latest conquest, "Eclipse"....don't bother me. ;-)

Today was a fun day! We took Easton to meet the Easter bunny!! Easton was very intrigued by the large, furry critter and kept looking up at him and laughing, but I managed to get a halfway decent shot of the two together! Yay! :-)

After that, Grammy and I did some shopping and then, it was such a beautiful afternoon, we took E-man to the park! He had a blast!

Does he not have the best laugh?

Tumble and Bumble, woo hoo!!!!

Today Easton and I went to a birthday party honoring a parenting network that I am a part of. It was hosted at Aerials & Baranis Gym off of Plainfield. When we got there it was all so overwhelming for the little dude - the huge trampolines, balance beams, foam pits....but then we found the toddler area and Easton had a blast! Everything was soft and bouncy. So much fun for a "rough and tumble" little boy like E-man!
~
At the party we met up with some old friends of ours, Kristen and Ethan and some new friends that we had made at another gathering for the network, Kellye and Carson. Easton had so much fun playing with his buds. Kellye got a great picture of the boys together, once I get it from her, I'll have t post it, it is just darling!
~
Here's some pics!

The E-dude climbing on the toddler gym equipment
Making a new friend.

In awe of the "big kids" on the balance beams! :-)

Sitting on some bouncy mats. He loved bouncing up and down on them!

I think I caught him mid blink. :-(

Easton and Carson - Carson decided to take a "dive" before I could snap the pic, evidentally this left Easton feeling very sad and forlorn! Aw!

"Anyone want to come be my friend and bounce with me!?

Sticky kisses

This morning before I left for work, I leaned in to say good-bye to Easton as he was sitting in his highchair eating a banana before daddy took him to grammy and grampy’s house for the day. "Give mama a kiss buddy!" I demanded as I puckered up. Two sticky little hands gripped my face and pulled me in close as my little boy opened his mouth and sucked my lips and chin (this is a kiss, I swear!). Thinking it was too cute, I asked politely for another and he happily obliged. And then, without even asking - after his kiss - my precious little boy put his sticky little hands around my neck and put his head on my shoulders to give me a big bear hug before I left.

.
Be still my heart. I melted into a puddle of goo. Could I love him anymore than I already do? It would be impossible, the depth of this love is endless, infinite.

.
So, here I sit, covered in dried pieces of banana, a sign of my little boy’s affection. And I smile. It’s a good day.

Dapper Dan

We went out to eat last night and the weather has been so much like winter, I wanted to bring a little "spring" with us to the restaurant. So I dressed Easton up in a dapper out and completed it with one of his new newsboy caps! :-) He had a lot of fans at the restaurant and we had our favorite waitress who is in love with our little dude (who isn't!?). He had a good night! :-)

He's eating in the second pic, hence the puckered lips! :-)
