Memorial Day Weekend

We had a busy weekend this past weekend. So busy that, in fact, we are still recovering from it! Whoo!

Friday night we went over to our friends, Jeff and Arlena's house and Easton loved playing with the kids!

Saturday we had parties galore to go to and some time to spend with my folks and aunts and uncles (who are so very, very fun - always tons of laughs) and then we ran out to Jeff and Arlena's house again. I have no pictures from this day. Exhaustion overtook me and I couldn't find the strength to even turn on the camera!!!!

Sunday we spent a relaxing day on the boat with Grammy and Grampy and had a bonfire. ::edit because they felt bad:: ;-)

Grammy and Grampy (who Easton now refers to as "Boppa") got Easton his very own wicker "deck chair" and so we brought it out on the boat with us, Easton LOVED IT!

This kid is a water boy! He loved being out on the lake!

After a day on the boat, it was time to make dinner. The guys were grilling and mom and I were in the kitchen. Too hard to look after the little E-toe. What do you do with him then? "Put him in the pot!" Grampy suggested! Brilliant idea Grampy!

I think Easton liked it in there a little too much!

Monday morning I was adamant that we take Easton to Standale's Memorial Day Parade. I learned my lesson. Parades in Walker, Michigan are not the same as parades in Sarasota, Florida. When we were in Florida they had the more elaborate Christmas parade and Easton loved it and was jamming to the music the whole time. This parade? He frowned, I think he was seriously pissed that the parade was so lame. And so were we. We took a couple pictures and left - vowing never to return. Sorry Toe!

Just a quick update, Easton's repetoire of words and phrases as of right now: Mama, Daddy, Boppa (Grandpa), Duck, Quack Quack, All Gone, All Done, Hi, Bye-bye, Clock, Clap, Uh-oh, Cracker, Cookie, Go and No....and he keeps adding more and more every day!

Bliss.

We are loving the gorgeous weather over here at the Loucks house! :-) Easton has been spending oodles of time outside and today was no exception! After Victorious Women this morning at church, we went to a nearby park with some friends for picnic and play! We had so much fun! Easton has always loved to swing - but now he is obsessed with it! He could have went back and forth in the swing all.day.long if I let him! :-)

Heart melty goodness. Look at those eyes, I am still thrilled I got a LITTLE bit of myself into this boy - curly hair and my pretty blue eyes - he definitely got the best of what I had to offer. ;-)

After the park we ran errands and when we got home, Easton couldn't wait to show Ritzy how much he missed him with a big 'ole bear hug and no pants on! ;-)

Happy Mother's Day!

Friday night we had our friends Joanne and Michael over. "Auntie Jojo" as Easton likes to call her (hehe!) desperately wanted to give Easton a bath, he loves bathtime, so he was game! I snapped a few pics, I wish I would have gotten some better ones. He loves his Auntie Jojo and Uncle Michael - Easton says "thank you" for his new cup that he has carried around non-stop all weekend!

Mother's Day. I had a lovely Mother's Day. Really, I loved spending the whole day looking at the little life my husband and I created and remarking in the beauty that is Easton. It still seems unbelievable that we brought this little life into the world, he is a part of me. God is so good. I am so thankful to be able to celebrate Mother's Day because I am so thankful for the little boy that calls me "Mommy". I am so thankful to celebrate Mother's Day too because I have a wonderful mother who I can celebrate as well. Because of my wonderful mother, I have such a great example on what a kind, loving, generous and selfless mother is - I strive each and every day to be the kind of mother to Easton that my mom is to me and I hope I am successful in that. Hope all of you fantastic mother's had a great day.

He never ceases to amaze me.

Wow, the words are just flowing now. Easton has been saying things such as "Mama", "Dada", "Go" and "Duck" for a while now. All of a sudden, these past few weeks - or really this past week - all sorts of new words have been flowing! "Doggy", "Ball", "Clock", "Uh oh" (my favorite!) and there are more, I can't even think of them all right now! He will say something new during the day with me or my mom will email me at work saying, "Oh my gosh Kami, Easton just said __________!" It is amazing watching his little mind work and learn new things.

We often call him an "old soul". He seems so much older than his age. He is a thinker and very contemplative and thoughtful. It is so much fun watching his personality continue to bloom and develop. He is such a joy, let me tell ya....

On to the pictures.

Last weekend Ryan, E and I went out to eat with mom and dad and my crazy aunties and uncles at Bluewater Grill. Easton has been there so many times, he thinks he IS Mr. Bluewater. He truly "owns" the joint. All of the waitstaff knows him, he gets picked up and kissed and hugged and oogled over. We have a "usual" table. It's bizarre, people are just drawn to him like a magnet....

We went to the park on Sunday and yes, Easton is wearing the same outfit as Saturday night! I normally don't do that but I love the outfit so much I wanted to show it off at the park! Don't judge me! :-) Easton thoroughly enjoyed himself!

Mommy and Easton stylin' in our Converse shoes. I am in LOVE with Converse shoes and have developed a new obsession for them. I just got Easton a white pair this week that match mine and I want to get a black pair to match his. It's a sickness, I know. Ryan will play no part, or so he thinks!!!! I am eyeing a pair at Macy's for him too!

Then last Tuesday, on Cinco de Mayo, we went to Bluewater Grill again, creatures of habit, I know - but they have great food and $1.99 happy hour - which included margaritas on this particular night! Easton's favorite waitress, Debbi, gave Easton a Cinco de Mayo gift - a Corona necklace (classy, right!?!? Ha!), he thought he was the cat's "meow" in his beads! :-)

15 mo. check up!

Easton had his 15 mo. doctor's appointment today.

He is doing great! He is smart as a whip and developing great!

Easton's current stats are:

Weight: 24 lbs. 6 oz. (25-50 percentile)

Height: 32" (90 percentile)

Head Circumfrence: 18 3/4" (50-75 percentile)

Easton's weight has always been around the 50-75 percentile and he was 24 lbs. at his 12 mo. appointment, so I was concerned, but my doctor reminded me that Easton had the flu last week (who needs to be reminded of that!?) and said that he is sure Easton lost quite a bit of weight from that, so there is no need to worry. Thank goodness!

He got two shots today - DTAP and MMR. I have been putting MMR off for as long as I could, but Dr. Jarve wouldn't let me put it off anymore, so we did it. Easton was not a happy camper, quite a few tears were shed much to my dismay (my heart breaks during shots!) but he is doing great now and we're looking forward to an afternoon at the park.

Pictures Galore!

Alright, here are some pics! I am really dissapointed I don't have better pictures of E in his Easter outfit. It is so cute and he had a matching white derby hat to go with, but that didn't stay on long! Anyway, here are the pics. We brought Easton's Easter "bag" (I didn't have a basket) to Grammy and Grampy's house to open. The Easter bunny got him some outdoor toys, some Easter stuffed animals and a book about the real story of Easter. How nice of the Easter bunny. ;-)

The Easter bunny also left Easton his first set of golf clubs at Grammy and Grampy's house for him! Looks like E got visited twice by the furry little creature!

I can't wait until next year when we can do an egg hunt for the little Toe!

These pics are just quick shots of Easton and his buddy Ethan having a play date last Tuesday, they had oodles of fun! It is great watching them play together. A lot of my girlfriends have little girls and so it is nice for E to hang with a dude once in a while and do, you know, manly things!! :-)
