Every Halloween Ryan and I would buy the obligatory ginormous bag of candy for the neighborhood kids, get a pumpkin that Ryan would so eloquently carve (he is a FAB pumpkin carver, seriously!) and then we would dress up Ritzy in an utterly ridiculous costume that he hates. You can put clothes on him - polos, sweatshirts, hats, coats, shoes - he is fine with all of it. For some reason, his Halloween costumes? Nope, he does not like those one bit and he lets you know.
So this year, we have taken some of our torment off of Ritzy and placed it upon Easton (I got Ritzy a new costume this year - a lobster - but I had to take it back because when I put it on him, he walked around with his tail between his legs and looking at us like we beat him *sigh*) so I think we may just have him wear one of his favorite sweatshirts with a whistle around his neck - he can be a.........football coach? Hehe. Anyway, so as I was saying, Ritzy is not getting all of our torment this year, oh no, poor Easton is too. Easton is a penguin, oh yes, a darling little penguin at that. So darling that I have decided I must show him off to every Halloween party in existence within our group of friends :-) Poor Toeytoe.
First off -
Tuesday night my mom's group friends all got together at Chuck-E-Cheese for a Halloween party. Just the name Chuck-E-Cheese sends chills up and down my spine. As you may well know, I am a germaphobe, to a fault. Our kid has not been sick yet - not even a cold! (KNOCK ON WOOD!) and although the doctor says Easton should be exposed to germs to help build up immunities and all of that jargen, I disagree and shelter him from all germs and germy people. But, come on, my mom friends, pizza, flashing lights, annoying songs being sung by a mouse - and, showing off Easton in his penguin costume, how could I not go!? So I did....with my sanitizer in hand....
Easton enjoying the only "germy" ride I would let him go on! He loved it! He squealed with such delight!
A video of E-Toe in the ride, he was having a blast!
He loved steering that bad boy....
Another video of E in the ride, this is hilarious because you can hear him getting all excited!
All of the moms and babes (a fertile bunch, don't ya think!?) Can you spy a penguin?

And then today, as if Tuesday night's festivities weren't enough, I took Easton to our Wednesday "Laptime" at the library. The kids were encouraged to dress up in their costumes. Of course we obliged.

Addie and Easton. In this one Easton is watching the train go around the room. The library has a train track mounted about a foot down from the ceiling and a train goes around and around - as you can see E is a fan!
Smilin' Sam!
That is all for the costume photos. I am sure we'll be taking more on Halloween while E hands out candy to all of the kiddos.
This afternoon, after laptime, my mom and I went to the mall, like we always do, and we brought Easton to the carousel. Holy hannah, Easton loves everything we do and always has a good time, but I have never seen him enjoy anything more than he enjoyed the carousel! My goodness! The kid was SQUEALING and GIGGLING so loud the whole food court stopped and turned out to watch him during his WHOLE RIDE and they all smiled and pointed....it was quite cute, then it got awkward....But anyway, he loved it! I will have to take better video next time, I had my mom take it as we went by, but it didn't capture his true excitement. He has a blast - great idea mom! Thanks so much!
These were taken after the ride....

By the way--Easton is the CUTEST penguin I HAVE EVER SEEN!!
What a happy little penguin!! The pic of him looking up at the train is too funny! Forget posing for the camera, he wants to watch the train!
We'll have to stop by the carousel sometime. Avery has never been on it
