About Me

My photo
I am a 27 year old married mother of a beautiful, curly headed toddler named Easton and precious (and precocious) puppy named Ritzy. I have 3 blogs. The first blog is our family blog. Enjoy being nosey. Ha! The second blog is for the journey we have embarked on for our puppy. At almost 5 years old, our sweet Ritzy was diagnosed with calcium oxalate bladder stones. He had surgery to remove the stones. This blog is to document (and help others) our journey in saving Ritzy so he gets the long and healthy life he deserves. The third blog is for my "professional" life. It references my lovely Etsy store and all of the loveliness that inspires me on the wonderful world of Etsy

Things I never thought I'd do....and then I had a kid....

File this little nugget under, "Things I never thought I'd do....and then I had a kid."  I took Easton down to the Santa Claus Parade.  Yes, in downtown Grand Rapids, on a freezing cold morning and I did it all by myself.  Ryan went to a Michigan State game with the neighbor that same day and froze his butt off too! LOL!

I had to have bloodwork done and the Spectrum lab downtown was one of the few open on Saturday so I thought while I was heading down there, we might as well do the parade! It was a lot of fun but it was REALLY cold and REALLY LONG!

Easton had a great time, but was definitely ready to see the "big man" in the red suit and then go home, the rest he wasn't interested in - just Santa :-)

I was glad to do this for him though.  Although my parents did A TON of us growing up, we always had fun and lacked for nothing, this was NOT one of those things my parents would have EVER done with us, no way. They are not parade people, lol.  I am glad to do it for Easton, I am hoping when he's older, he will look back and remember all of the fun things we did together - even if some things were crazy, stupid, boring - and have fond memories of us doing these things together <3

 Waving at parade floats

A smile for mom!

What happens when you have a bunch of high school football players who don't care about the parade and keep yelling, "This is stupid!" a large balloon. (I was very disappointed in the Grandville High School Football team and the other students who handled this balloon)

Waving at Santa!!!!

 And there he is!!!!
